Why this conference, why now?

AI is transforming how knowledge is produced, accessed, and applied. And while technology should not alone determine the future of education, AI is creating more motivation now than ever to reevaluate our fundamental institutions and how they’ll operate moving forward. The organizing group is comprised of experts from traditional higher-ed, AI, impact evaluation, and the tech realm who wanted to ask:

With the advent of AI, how should the objectives of education change and how can educators and technologists collaborate to achieve those objectives?

This gathering creates space to begin answering that question; to challenge our assumptions, imagine possibilities, learn from experiments already underway, and develop ideas together.

Concretely: While we don’t expect to change the world in 3 days, we do hope to lay the groundwork for that change in the shape of lasting, unexpected partnerships, deeper alignment, and empowering change makers with a clearer idea of next steps.

Agenda & Events

Location

The Location

We are incredibly fortunate to host this event at Chateau Hostačov. Originally a medieval castle, rebuilt as a renaissance château in the 16th century, Hostačov sits in 12 hectares of forest and water in the Czech Highlands, about 70 minutes from Prague by train or car. Acquired recently by the EA community to host impact-focused events such as this, it is a retreat where we’ll have the time and space to reset, reflect, and rethink education together.

Propose an unconference session

An unconference has organizers, but much of the conference is led by you! We want you to bring your questions, your wisdom and insights, and your ideas to lead sessions throughout the weekend.

Rough Guidance for hosting a session

• Anywhere from 15 min to 2 hours
  • As a rule of thumb, we’ll suggest 30 min - 1 hour, but if you feel your session needs more time, that is completely fine!
• A session can be… anything! You are constrained only by your imagination (and materials)
  • Open for some inspiration
